Welcome to East Lancs Sailing Club
Dear Members,
Welcome to the new season. We are starting the year off with
a full
reservoir which is always a heartening sight.
One of the stated aims of the club is to promote racing and many members
will want to experience the joys of racing and the programme will get under
way towards the end of March. There will also be a group of people who want
to learn to race but feel that they are not competent enough. May I suggest
you speak to any of the longer established club members and many will tell
you that they learnt to race by joining in and spending many hours following
the race fleet round the reservoir and, as time went by, they gained more
and more confidence and are now winning races regularly. If you are not sure
about the basic rules there will always be someone on hand to help. If
enough people are interested the committee will happily put on a race
sailing course.
The club prides itself on being as helpful and friendly as possible and the
committee members are always on the look out for new ideas. So, if you have
ideas which will help the club, please pass them on.
Remember the club belongs to all its members
and its strength lies in team
